Basically, you leave a tape recorder in the room.

Go out for a few hours, come back, hook it up to the PC, and then alter the playback Frequency to Super-High (or was it Super-Low?), basically levels which we cant hear in, and then you hear people talkin , dont know how it exactly works though.

But its a good film 9/10 made me go all cold and freezing and shudder..

Yes, The Wall was great. The Shining too.

White Noise was absolute crap. Unless you're 16 I guess. It was the worst "horror" (what a joke) movie I've seen in years. Worse than Eight Legged Freaks. At least the hoakiness on that was funny.

And they really really REALLY exagerated that phenomenon.

Of course the living dead movies as well.
Good, a John Carpenter fan. The Thing still creeps me the f*ck out. The DVD commentary track for it is one of the best ever, too. Oh, and I have my copies of The Thing and They Live autographed by Keith David.

Most horror movies these days are too self aware or remakes of mediocre foreign movies or of classic horror movies in general. The Hills Have Eyes (despite being directed by the same guy as High Tension) and Dawn of the Dead were worthy remakes, but those are major exceptions. I'm looking forward to Grindhouse, myself.

For some reason wehn I read "Chuckie" I mis-read and thought it just said "Chuck" which made me think you were typing "Chuck Norris series"

@eddie
I totally agree, like I said Hills Have Eyes and Dawn of the Dead were good remakes, and with about 4 other horror movies the US hasn't done many good horror movines in the past decade. The best ones were out of Asia, and I liked the Saw series (havent seen III yet) though that was from the UK. And lucky about those dvds!

@darth
I still need to see texas chainsaw the beginning i heard it was really good, plus it has R Lee Ermy! (Full Metal Jacket Drill Sargent).
Also in regards to white noise, maybe ought to start a ghost story thread... I'm going to start one in a second.

@fish work
havent watched it with the commentary, I honestly don't know why, but I make plans to in the next week.

Also to be honest I am such a horror movie person that I just totally separate movies like evil dead from movies like the hills have eyes.

Also the best zombie movie that anyone who likes them HAS to checkout is Zombi 2. It's made by a great italian director Lucio Fulci. If you like Romeros you will LOVE Zombie 2. It's also under the name Zombi or Zombi 2. The reason is:

It was just supposed to be called zombi, but some people wanted to market it off of Night of the Living Dead so the called it Zombi 2, so people would think it was the sequal to Night of the Living Dead. So Zombi 2 is the first in the Zombi series. Although the rest of the series is absolutly horrible (its horrible enough to where I recommend seeing it because it's funny) It goes up to Zombi 7 I believe. Everything after Zombi 2 was by different directors.
