Umm I'm not sure what you are reffering to but I am pretty sure a common fragmentation grenade (ca. 350 g RDX, composition B or TNT) would give a sympathetic detonation to most amounts of Composition 4 provided that the shockwave (not pressurewave) is in close enough proximity to the compound, let's not forget that Composition 4 can be innitiated easily by a primary without a booster train.

I'm no expert, but C4 is used because it is non-volatile (until detonated by a detonating pin). You can shoot it, blow it up, eat it (not advised etc) and so on, its just putty.

Yes C4 is very inert, but is still sensitive to sympathetic detonation unlike explosives like ANFO which require big boosters to detonate.
Point is, C4 can be detonate with a simple blasting cap, so a common hangrenade should not have any difficulty setting it off.

Not very smart, C4 contains a lot of toxic chemicals which could hurt you bad, a guy in the norwegian army did that a few years ago as a challange or something, he got very ill.
