He called it a stealth rifle becasue of the range you can engage targets from. The round would hit and kill an enemy before they even heard the gunshot. Its a pretty weak definition of stealth, but he is technically right.

But dosent that qualify any supersonic rifle as a stealth rifle?

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

He specifically says that the "Image" of the rifle is that you never hear it coming. that is due to the ranges that you engage targets and as we all know most bullets move faster than the speed of sound so the greater the distance the greater the length of when the bullet hits and you hear the shot.
Simple math For simple people: Note I used arbitrary numbers for ease of calculations Speed of Sound 600 M/S Speed of Bullet 1200 M/S Range to target 2400 Meters It takes the bullet 2 seconds to reach the target 4 seconds later you would hear the shot. With a suppressor (yes they do make them for the m82) you would never hear a noise outside of 500m. |

haha, rofl, you know, he did a similiar show, were he was the host, future comabt systems or so, and even though they´ve preseted the mlrs, which was already used in desert storm, he was super-surprised and amazed by any thing - what a moron. the best thing is, he claims to be an ex-navy seal - WTF - that guy lacked basic weaponry knowledge in future combat systems (or was it future weapons), things that every armchair general (like most here heard a "rumor" one time, that he actually was a seal, but he worked in a berau doing only paperwork XD Quote:

I think that what you are a seeing is a failure of writers and producers for the show not the guy. He's not an actor, he's a soldier. | |

I think the 15 to 20 seconds he was referring to was for a weapon like this.
![]() You have to REMOVE the bolt to place a round and then reinsert it into the weapon. Not just cycle the bolt action to load another round from a mag or even hand load a round like on an M40 or Rem700. |
