Sony PSP or Nintendo DS Lite?

Relatively easy question, which one should I get? I want a simple device to waste time with when I'm not able to be at my PC.

Sony PSP: $195.99
Nintendo DS Lite: $129.99

The price is no big deal. I'm looking for features really, including spectrum of games and hack-ability to do stuff like browse the web etc...

Please respond only if you have one of these (or both) and/or if you have a friend who has one (so you have experience with the systems). Thanks!

Brother has a PSP and mate has a NDS, I played both and the Nintendo is by far the most addictive. It's just like those games of old where you play purely for the fun, not graphics, not physics or features just pure fun. I cannot stop playing Brain Training.

If you need more proof, I bought myself a shiney NDS not so long ago

NDS is fun, but the PSP is a proper mini gaming machine. It's got more multimedia features too, which come in handy. I love the graphics for the PSP, it's like being able to play the PS2 wherever you go (and now I'm a PC gamer, it's kind hard to spend time with the PS2!). The NDS is funny, but I think it's going to be a temporary fun thing, like the Wii. It's something you can get bored of, but it's fun when other people are around.

look what games you want to play and which platforms they are on.
the DS is aimed and kids, on women gamers so the games are gonna be a bit less mature like mario or animal street crossing

I got a PSP and its really good and fun, although the FPS (i have SOCOM) kinda sucks, but there might be better games

Its really good for playing car games, and listening to music, it has really good quality music but the headphones suck. Its really cool that you can watch movies on it

they sell em in UMD discs which is cool (they also have x-rated version

).

By they kinda..."break" easy, ive had my psp for around..6 months now, and ive had to take it back/get it swapped cause the sound broke

so you gotta be gentle with it.

(Oh the Pink one rules haha)

Stop thinking serious gaming...thats what your PC is for, why spend that kind of money on essentially the same thing done badly. If I want to play a serious game it'll never be on a console, hand held or otherwise.

Go with the NDS. All you want to do is kill time it will be perfect. But if you want to listen to music or pay a silly amount of money to watch movies get the PSP.

If you have an Ipod just get the NDS. Though if you want to surf the web I think if you you can hack your PSP to do that?

PSP has movies, internet browser, music, expandable storage size with duostick sd cards. They are also great for music. It has built in WiFi. You can change the background. What more then you want? I heard you can load XP and Vista too in PSP. Its a mini computer for Christ's sake. All DS does is have a touchscreen. It's clunky and funky.

Errrr, you know NDS has Wifi, web browser, MSN, exandable storage, you can load linux on it and can also play films. Also heard that using Wifi you can use your DS as a media controller for your PC. Seriously, you gotta check this stuff out before opening your mouth.

So basically, everything the PSP can do PLUS a touchscreen....PSP just got pwned.
