Also, if I am not mistaken, the ETA warned the authorities before they detonated the bombs, or something like that. I assume that it was meant to show that they can still do it, not to kill as many people as possible.

Its mildly frightening that this is the first ive heard of this in the UK and its almost a week after it happened. WTF?

I frankly think that the news networks are pissed that ETA claimed it. Now they cant pretend it was muslims.

No shit, the media is very selective, especially the american media.

I dont think the war on terror is supposed to be just a war on islamic fascism, it should and might be a war on terrorism itself.

Obviously that's what war on Terror(ism) is supposed to be about, but this is a glaring example of how it is manipulated for social and political aims by the few.
Blowing up part of an airport is terrorism, but telling people that it was ETA and not Al Queda would leave people confused, as for most people terrorism = muslim arabs, which only further shows how the WOT was fabricated as a tool of control and nothing to do with making the world more safe, let alone the fact that the WOT can't be won and isn't intended to be won in the sense most would call victory. Look at what happened with the liquid bomb plot and all the shit that people had to deal with because of it, it was a plot, never even made it beyond planning yet the whole way you fly now has changed, yet when something actually blows up and kills people (sleeping) you don't even hear it mentioned! Things like paris hilton acting like a slut make all the talking head shows nightly, yet when we are supposed to be so afraid of all things terror an airport bombing somehow gets over looked, as it does not fit the islamo fascists out to get you script.

Every single major American news network carried and continues to carry extensive coverage of this event.

I read about it on Sunday the 31st of December in my horrible, bass-ack-wards local f*cking newspaper the Savannah Morning News.

Take from this what you will.

ETA bombings are nothing special to the spanisch anymore;
This has been going on for like 40 years. Bombing there-> nothing really surprising.

Sometimes they catch few terrorists, but they never managed to stop the whole ETA movement.
It`s all about becoming independet from spain for the basque part of the population (Basques live near the french border in the north). Basically they are not very different to spanish people, but well... crazy people out there

Woah, that much destruction? From the news report I read (several) I got the impression that they blew up a couple of cars. That looks like a lot of destruction, compared to what I imagined.

An image says more than a thousand words. Speaks louder, too.

You see, you'd think that, but then Mr. Blair wouldnt have been able to release all those IRA men in Northen Ireland while he was announcing that the UK was now part of the war on terror.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Ya beat me to it Bob.
It is very similiar to the IRA bombings in that it was annoucned ahead of time and it has been going on for a long time.

1. It's in Spain
2. It's not the radical muslims doing it
3. It didn't kill enough people
4. It's in Spain
There is also the possibility, that like the IRA, they have some small but legitimate grievance and nobody wants any attention drawn to that.
