need a TV Tuner card

Having problems picking a tv tuner card out... i want one that gives good quality video, is reasonably priced, and it would be nice if it had a remote.

I had for quite a while the ATI all in one tuner card and had nothing but problems. Nothing but problems with that card. I also tried the USB version. lots of problems. I found out later it is due to some compatability issue with XP. Supposed to be good for VISTA though

You might want to take a look at this stuff. It is supposed to be pretty good.
This Hauppauge gets real good reviews although I have never tried it.

Seriously though, unless you have VISTA stay the hell away from the ATI tuners.

You can pick up a pretty descent pci no name card on Ebay for 15 bucks with a remote. I also had one of these that worked pretty good but was a little unstable. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Internal-Easy-TV-...QQcmdZViewItem

I have an analgoue Hauppauge cards, had nothing but driver issues relating to lipsync.

In the end I bought a dvdrecorder unit to stick under my tv, but the quality of a £70 model was only what my analogue tvin card was, although I could use my pc instead of sat back watching what I was capping.

If you end up with lipsync issues, use Virtualdub as your capping tool, find the tickbox that locks video to audio and install the latest divx coded (6 series) you can get your hands on.

Capping with a tvin card is highly reliant on the fastest cpu you can get hold of.

i also have a Hauppauge and with windows media center, i love it. sorry cant remeber which model i have i got it about a year ago and its money.

I have windows media center and its money, just like Tivo can recored entire seasons and such. god i love it.
