how will we start our sentences? think of the grammar! won't someone please think of the grammar?

please note - the lack of captial letters is offically accepted under protest. i want to be able to start my sentences properly. i might be the only person on the entirety of the interwebs who does it, but damn it, i like my sentences to be done by the rules!

Oh yeah, does this mean I'm allowed to post in big red letters when talking about mother russia provided i dont use caps?

and a tenner says that theres a bet on in the dev's forum on how long they can keep this farce up...

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

resjah is right, upper case characters do take up more space. I did a quick test.

using microsoft word, i tested to size of a document containing 2255 letter "a"s. with all lower case characters, the document was 26112 bytes. with all upper case characters, the document was 27648 bytes. that's about 0.68 extra bytes per upper case character. though this does not seem like much, if we completly eliminate upper case characters sever stress could be reduced.

there are also more ways to reduce server stress. a document with the text:

Quote:
due to server stress, please refrain from using any capital letters in your spam posts.

this is because capital letters are unnecessarily large and become trapped while traveling through bent cables. as a result, your computer sends more and more packets to the server, and the wires become clogged.

when you straighten your wires, the released letters become loose all at once and bombard the server with redundant information. this slows down everyone else's connection to a great degree.

thanks, that is all.
has a size of 24576 bytes. if all spaces, periods and commas are removed, the document has a size of 24064 bytes. this may make posts hard to read, but to be honest, if you are not willing to spend the time to read it, it probably is not important.

for important posts, big letters or red letters could be used to mark the start of words.

another measure that many forums take to reduce sever stress that i do not see much on these forms is using numbers instead of letters and using shorter words.

numbers take up more space than letters. a document filled with 1872 capital "O"s has a size of 26624 bytes while a document filled with 1872 zeroes has a size of only 25600 bytes. That about 0.55 additional bytes per character. so instead of "noob", use "n00b".

each character takes up space. so if shorter words are used, even if they have to be mispeled, will help save space. also, remove unnessisary words. instead of saying "that is funny", say "lol" and instead of saying "hello i am new to project reality, it is a great mod, though i am currently not too good i am hoping to improve my skills", say "hi new to pr, cool, im noob, wil b 1337".

if we all do out part, we can reduce server stress.
