Its $189 US, but if you could have the money for a powercolor I would suggest going for that instead, the cooling on the sapphire is not great at all. But BF2 on the highest settings no problem regardless of which X1950 pro.

My desktop has a FX 5900XT. If I have some coin coming back from the Tzxman I will see what is out there. Never bought an ATI product so we will see. . .
(Few days later) So I had a look see at Newegg. Guess I should just bite the bullet and pick up a 7600GT as it got good remarks on Tomshardware. Should give my desktop enough life until I get out of school (year and a half) and start making good money again. I will have to set my laptop away from being my main game rig (6600 Go, 2.12 Celery, 2 Gig RAM). Never been a fan of laptops due to the wonky nature of the hardware they put in them and my time with it has shown my feelings to be more right than wrong. Should have bought half the machine I did and spent the rest on the desktop (or anything else). Live and learn. |
