HUGE fps drop after 1.41 patch
Ok so ive installed bf2 1.41 patch
I have an ATI X1900XTX my average fps has gone from 99 down to 15 on all maps in Bf2 and PR In a local game, my fps in fine but everthing is really low res even with high settings. Ive tried: -updating ati drivers -defragging -reinstalling twice -changing vid settings. All to no avail, has anyone got similar problems? I really need to get sorted because I cant play atall |

Mate of mine was on 1.41 and running it with no problem's. He also uses and ATI card. I have an 1900XTX but haven't patched to 1.41 yet so can't tell you if it's something card specific.

Also my ping has shot up to 200/300 average on servers where its normally 30/90.
BUt my internet+ download speeds are great!? |

Im here with a p4 2.5ghz, XFX Geforce 6600GT running @ AGP4x and 1.5gb ram and I run at aprox 15-20 fps... the high ping also seems to suggest its your machine. A possibility is that you have a very powerfull (or a lot of) spyware/virus/background activity going on there. Do some virus checks, run spyware and bot search and destroy progs, etc... try your internet connection in another game to see if it has changed at all. Sometimes the online connection tests can be extremely inaccurate.
You could try rolling back your computer to an earlier time maybe? |
