I heard that in mainland China if you help someone, you are legally obliged to pay for their hospital bills, medicine received and prescribed, and basically EVERYTHING. Also, you CAN be sued if they die. Still no excuse.

Well, I think that's mostly because we got to feel this situation by watching the video and actually see her being ripped apart.

If you are told in news that 52 people died it's just a number, because you can't see what happened to them for real

The guy who was driving the van made contact with the father and gave him money (at least)

Also the bystander effect can explain that, aswell as the 2006 case can explain that.

The baby is in coma right now in a critic state.

I'm glad the van driver gave money to the kids father. But if I were the father I would want to rip every fucking hair out of his head then drive over him and let him sit on the streets as no one goes to help him. I mean come on, he fucking drive over the kid TWICE. Not only once, but TWICE... for me that is unforgivable.

With that kind of attitude, i would indeed run away from incidents which have nothing to do with me.
