BF2142 to BF2

so how much more computer horsepower do u need to have to play 2142 compared to bf2 with graphic intense settings?

Its about the same. I get the same performance out of both games on MED settings.

good, cause it looks like the graphics are a little more intense in 2142 and it also came out a year later so instinct sais it would be more intense. but if its the same then im happy.

believe it or not
it is laggier
my same pc get 21fps with everything @ low at 1024 on 2142, on pr with half of the settings on medium at 1024 and aa 2x i get 32fps

probably laggier due to the enhancements to the effects engine (minor) and the significantly flashier and more frequent effects (major).

Hrm .. not sure what you mean .. game ain't my cup o' tea ..and EA not necessarily my favorite publisher (after working with them as a mod crew) but I was jsut stating some facts they they made minor enhancements to the effects engine, but kinda went to town on how large and how frequent effects are played, in addition to the size of the effects. The effects engine in BF2 is actually quite capable, they are just stepping it up a notch to make the game look more spectacular and to keep up with hardware trends.
