What not to do during a sniper attack

It doesn't seem to be wise to just stand around looking shocked when someone goes down.. you will be next. It must suck to just have to stand there on guard all day long like a sitting duck for these mujahadeen...

I can't watch all of this...it's making me sick. How many guys have to get wasted standing around on guard duty before somebody figures out that having Marines standing around like that is just putting them up for jihadi target practice?

Well you have to figure in that 99% of the time they're not being picked off by snipers. And if they were to stay inside sandbunkers all day that would be unsettling for the population.

Depends on the mission. You can't effectively fight a war if your hiding all day.

I didn't say that they should hide but face it, they're in a combat zone...the whole place is one huge combat zone. So why are they just standing around like officer O'reilly of the NYPD on the corner of 42nd and Broadway, waiting for Mo Jihadi to waste them from 300 yards?

I like what War Nerd said about this; having 100,000 or 200,000 or even 400,000 grunts stationed in a hostile nation of 45 million fanatics just won't work.

Better to send in 10,000 trained killers, really bloodthirsty throat slitting Ghurka style fighters that go in like wildcats and do the job then get out...but having these guys stand around like beat cops is equivalent to letting Aztec priests sacrifice them on the altar of Huizlopochli...
