Anyone remember Forgotten Hope?

Hey all, just dropping a thread here to the homage of Forgotten Hope for BF1942. I had forgot how much fun it could be. I had found my old BF1942 disks so i went to install it and it couldn't read the second one, so with all else failing i looked to Emule and downloaded both disks from a group called Fairlight. I still used my old cd-key as i had the original package the disks came in. Once i got it done i had to get the newest BF1942 v1.6 patch and then a 1.6 to v1.61b update. Then i set about getting the newest Forgotten Hope which is version .7 and comes in three huge files. That being done i still couldn't play all the servers, i had to go back and get the community fan map packs 1-6 LOL. But now i have them all. And man, BF1942 is so much more primitive than BF2'es engine but i still have so much fun with Forgotten Hope it's crazy. I was wondering how many of you all here have played the old mod for the original BF franchise game? And what ur thoughts on it are?

I thought forgotton hope was PR's biggest competitor. I never played 1942 but I like Red Orchestra for a break from PR.

nah, thats FH2, which i am actually looking forward too, but it will on the bf2 engine, rather than bf1942. I'll see about making some vids and posting links here, gimme some time.

I played FH loads, I love the snow maps in the forest, it was really intense standoffs and setting up MGs in little ditches.

If it has the same mg set up as RO i want to play. I would love to see that in PR but i know.. it's hardcoded.

well i dont know wtf, but for some reason now, bf1942 crashes everytime i start recording with fraps? so no videos until i figure out why. it worked fine a couple of hours ago but just started this. hmm
