Sticking with it

A few people have mentioned worry about community decline due to new games coming out and player migration. What i would say is that if you like something alot you stick with it. My mate Dave (aka MY-BIG-WEAPON aka MRDIRTYDAVE) still plays BFvietnam, he loves it,Ranked number 25 in the world. He hates BF2, says he doesn't like it as it doesn't play like bfv.
He likes that so he still plays it just like loads of others.
I'll play all the new games like AA and Quake wars etc.. but they won't feel like PRMM.
AA will be closest but it'll be too simy for some. Quake wars will be fun but too twitchy for some.

The hardcore will stay. maybe one a couple of servers will be left but they'll be full and full of the best players, so i'll expect a good match

Come over to the Dark Side!
We got sweeties!

I really don't know if I will like ArmA or not. It could be the greatest game ever or it could be severly hampered by poor movement, poor graphics and poor gameplay.

If it was not for PR I would probably be getting 2142 but PR is good enough to occupy my free time.

Ongoing PR Projects:
Canadian Forces RG-31 Nyala Armored Patrol Vehicle - Status: Importing
Topographical minimaps - Status: Restarted![7/18]

I think if the mod is good enough, it will stick around until the next progression of it comes out. look at DC, i bet you anything there are still people playing DC as we speak, either if they cant afford new games or cant afford new computers to handle upcomming games.

Or they like it better than what's out now. I still hop on Forgotten Hope every now and then and even go back to DoD 1.6 just for fun.

Umm there is this game called Unreal Tournament. Yes, the UT99 version.
There are still a few "hardcore" players playing the mod Infiltration for UT today and UT is at least 5 or 6 years old!!
The latest official Inf was released 28 august 2001. So go figure.

I guess that if you really enjoy a game you will stick with it until your hardware stops supporting it.

{ pretty sig removed construction on new one has not begun }
... yet ...

I won't be migrating to BF2142 that's for sure.....

I still play TFC now & again, so not sure what threat TF2 is going to pose.

Not gonna touch 2142.

ArmA is the only game close to release that has my interest.

I think with the changes coming in PRMM v0.4 on the horizon, we should have no problems retaining a good player base.

I never found Op Flash that fun. I thought it was a great game no doubt, but I never got into it. It might be different with ArmA, but theres no way i'll be leaving PR.

Project Reality is the best game simulating modern warfare with a very playable approach. ArmA will be too hardcore for some people, and I beleive the challenge for the devs and appeal to the players is that PR makes it 'realistic' whilst still remaining fun and not over-complicating things.

I have no fear for the future of this ever improving game. Half of the stuff PR is adding are things that should have been in vBf2 but the dicedevs didnt have enough time/resouces whatever to do. Its and improvement on vBf2, aswell as a change. Much like FH for 42
