The dam upriver in Westfield MA broke and flooded some parts of the city. My mothers house was flooded along with all of her neighbors.
Luckily I live on a mountain. My house is perched overlooking a large field and the field was flooded. It was like living on my own peninsula.

NJ has a fair amount of flooding, still have roads extensively closed today (storm was done here very early sunday morning, so 40+ hours ago). That included large sections of route 1 in central NJ.
Trains aren't running, mostly because the Trenton, NJ train station is flooded, with something like 4 or 5 feet of water apparently on a half mile stretch of track. So that's a couple hundred thousand commuters who won't be going to work for a few days, plus no Amtrak running north of NYC until tomorrow because of flooding in Connecticut. All train service between Philly and NYC is suspended indefinitely until the water recedes and they can repair the infrastructure. So that's fun! :P |
