Is anyone else pretending "Irene" is the codeword for a zombie out break and the evacuation points are actually military safe zones?

So it's predicted to be a tropical storm by the time it gets to New Jersey/New York.

Brings the chances of shit getting knocked over and flooding down quite a bit.

Yeah, it's been quiet since '04, when three hurricanes passed through Polk County in the span of about 5 weeks. Outside the immediate coastal areas where flooding is likely every storm I've ever been through mostly consisted of lying in a pool of my own sweat after the power goes out. Got lucky that when the 70-foot oak tree in my backyard came down it only went through the pool screen, and not the roof.

I never put much stock in the whole "East Coast Media Bias" thing, but the sheer volume of coverage that this and that earthquake have gotten is ridiculous.

That was the Mayors fault for not preparing. How soon you forget what happened the second time this winter that a snow storm was announced, he over prepared and nothing happened. So yes, nyc can handle it. I stand by my comment.

Sadly, with how much I've been playing L4D2 lately, yes.
