Here is what I found out about dealing with SF and my solution to it;

If you have anything that is associated with Warez then the sucker will dig it out; your FlexLM is compromised, like if you're using a bootleg Maya Unlimited, if you have Nero or Alcohol 120 or some other burning program, if you have a bittorrent client like Azureus or BitComet, if you are using Daemon Tools to mount ISOs...or even have any of these programs on your hard drive...it will dig it out and find it and then SF will play some dirty tricks on you.

It will screw up all your pirated SW. It will screw up legitimate software. It will attack your CD/DVD burners and players, mainly by resetting their regional settings. Most CD/DVD burners can have their regional settings reset 5 times, then they no longer work. SF will switch their settings 5 times, thank you very much.

My solution?

I've got my computer wired up with two separate hard drives. Three actually. One main HD has all my illicit stuff with a slave drive for mass storage (200 gig and 250 gig respectively) and one HD for gaming which is totally pure as the driven snow (250 gig). There is a physical switch on the back of my computer case. I have to power down first of course; no hot swapping. Thus there is no way the SF installed on my gaming drive can ever detect any evidence of piracy or even the ability to commit piracy upon my computer. Yes SF is evil and they deserve a class action lawsuit, but until that day arrives and they die a horrible death, I'll be buying LOMAC Black Shark and whatever else I need to play without worrying.

I've the modded case! I'm L33T!

StarForce is such BS I swear on my life. LOMAC was the first game I have witnessed with SUCH a totally f'ed installation setup. Thanks StarForce, I havnt beaten you, and you still pwned my disk 2. It may have been the recall, but I am still p'oed that I was never given any of the info asked from SF. Oh, and I gave ubisoft my information on the product, POP and such, first the reply asking for it, now they wont get back to me with it. I want my disk two or I wont ever buy anything from them again.

So thats my experience with starforce

Oh and just to make me happy I will quote this quote of truth.
"Indeed, Starforce isn't really doing its job, and it's causing so much trouble to the users that the Starforce team itself ask the game publishers to remove it. Enough said."
