RULE: Random Links

I'm fed up with people posting a new thread purely to post a single hyperlink, with no description or even an opinion on the content within.

By all means, post links - everyone wants to read news and interesting links - but all "Link Threads" should comply with the following rules:

- A descriptive thread title.
Stuff like "Look at this" or "You should read this" are not good threads. Describe in a few words exactly what the link is about and what it contains within the thread title. A good idea is to copy the news title on the website itself - but if that isn't good enough, elaborate further on the title.

- Post the link first, then elaborate.
Simply posting a link followed by a single sentence and in some cases nothing isn't enough. We want intelligent discussions - post your opinion, post important points from the article, write about the article, whatever. Just write something more than "lol kay go read this."

- Avoid Questionable Issues
This doesn't just apply to random link threads. Mostly, people are doing well on this front - but just as a reminder - avoid discussions which either are immediately or could develop into rascism, political arguments, or any other subjects which are not allowed on this forum. We want news and the discussion thereafter, not a discussion on how much your country sucks.

Thank you for reading.

Another great thing to do is to focus the following posts by adding a number questions that people should ask them selves. A mixture of retorical and real questions can encourage peple to post with interesting responses.

E.g - what does this imply or suggest the real motive of developers is, are they more concerned with.... than .....??
