It's not like expensive watches tell time any better than a normal watch. All you do is increase your likelihood of being robbed. Awesome extra function, right? xD

yeah but those mechanisms are complicated and only work on not cheap watches (considering $2000+ is mid range when it comes to watches), if you had a cheap one no wonder it stopped.
a good watch with that kind of mechanism will out live you.
