This map is fine BUT :

It is really HARD to get the construction/temple/ ?? (i dont remember the name) for the USMC, if chinese use teamplay, maybe to hard...

We were 2 squads playing as a team yesterday, and all we did is capping and holding 2 flags, but there was a flag more, and impossible to take it without loosing another flag

My only complaint is that the AAS v2 version of this map has done nothing to alleviate the chokepoint at the Construction Site. It's just too difficult for the US team to hold on to.

I'd prefer it if the Lower City was paired with Market, and the Construction Site with whatever that other PLA starting flag is... Or just make it like the old AAS, but pair Construction and Market so that either one can be capped from the Lower City.

I have to disagree. The construction is the easiest to defend of the the first 3 flags as US. It is hard to do if the enemy concentrates on it but there are so many lookout gaps that 1 squad can defend it with good VOIP.

Sunset City is by far my favorite map and i really do hope nothing changes fro it's current build.

And I have to disagree with you in turn... It's easier for the PLA to defend than it is for the USMC. The PLA have the advantage of height, and the US teams have to come across open ground just to reach the point. The US team is also mostly coming from the same direction (North).
In contrast when the US are trying to attack it, the PLA come from both the South and East, and they have cover all the way up to the fence that surrounds the Construction Site itself.

Making the Market the companion flag to the Lower City wouldn't necessarily make it easier for US, but it would change the dynamic of the battle somewhat, so that the vast majority of the time isn't spent fighting over the one flag.

I also agree with chef, this flag is both easy to defend and attack in the right way. with a squad you can not cover all of the areas, but you can cover alot. and when attacking you can use smoke etc to get into the con site, once you are in, takes abit of work with your knife and CQB skills

get in the mind set of storming the site like Jack Bauer works everytime and is even more satisfying with pistols sneaking up the stairs with your squad mate checking the right side as you check the left

I'm slowly starting to figure out the best way to play each map. Usually its a case of saying to the squad at the beginning of the round, attack this flag, set up defence. Let the rest do the other flags.

Sunset city is a prime example of great squadwork where as other maps such as Pheonix need that little bit extra in way of rally points.

Sunset city could be seen in some eyes as Karkand 32 scale although not too much as i wasn't really keen on it and i love sunset

It would actually make it harder in that the PLA could sit on the wall and pick you off as you come from lower city towards the market (as they know thats the next flag your going for) thus rendering the lower city to market route useless. As it is you can still use that route but to attack Construction with more chance of getting their via a flanking route from the East. Then you can reverse back for Market to the East.
