Do you defend VCP?

I do, out of a sense of Pride

but also for these reasons

1) It provides a safe reload point for vehicles
2) Its a fall back position for any squad running from teh city
3) Insurgents just VCP and can't help but attack it, taking forces away from the caches
4) Thanks to aforementioned insurgent obsession with VCP, the VCP generates intel from killing the attacking insurgents
5) It is a sniping spot which can be used to great effect in the hands of a skilled player (I forgot his name but I had an awesome Italian in that squad who picked up the sniper kit of a dude who killed 3 civis lol)
edit- forgot these
6) There is a chance you can keep teh VCP bridge up and clear of IEDs
7)

also, good staging point for any squads
The problem with defending VCP is that you need to have a 50cal ready to take their cars down, as the m249s have limited fields of fire.

If you have a coherent plan of what to do to counter each insurgent attack tactic, you can hold VCP all round; not necessarily with ease, but you won't lose many tickets compared to intel points if you do it right.

What they do

1) Get close and use molotovs/smoke (what I do is get my guys to teh NW corner and nadespam them back, civis may die, but its do or die time)
2) They get on the hesco barrier and shoot over (thats the hardest one to stop imo, gotta tap a grenade over teh barrier once you've found him), If a grapple hook arrives, nade the area on your side if they are already over, otherwise camp it.
3) RPG snipe you (upside is they probably aren't next to the hesco if this is happening, but if that is happening, don't get on the guard towers, only the hesco barrier and medic must stay in one of the bunkers under the towers ready to revive anyone who gets caught in an explosion
4) Rush with Cars, counter with m249s/LAT and 50cals (if the blue mob don't steal them all)

Respect the R-Staff, they are pretty...pretty badass
so, if you don't like PR, get a refund

bunker in side always helps, and i think the main point is, defending with a small organized force will always take away a larger INS force cause for some reason if the INS know they are there , they WILL attack.

also, good staging point for any squads

I do my best to defend if tasked to do so, but most times, the SL wants to get out there and hunt. It's a good tactic, but since it was made uncappable, it's hardly acknowledged.

The only problem is the bunker. Too many people build it in the hesco, when it could be built outside the VCP itself. A solid guard can protect better outside, because of the visibility.

I defend the VCP if there's a lot of armor in the area, because it is a very effective rearm/repair point. Otherwise, I usually leave it alone because I'm off hunting for caches. My biggest problem with defending the VCP is that once a couple guys go to defend it, half the team shows up and your commander builds all kinds of stuff and no one wants to leave , so you lose.

VCP is as far away from letting friendly vehicles through as fallujah was considered a safe zone when we went in....

Insurgents will IED the chit out of that north bridge (i know i do) and there is nothign brits can do about it. Also there is very very little reinforcements to cover ur 6 when in there. Its an amazing spot for armor but the insurgents come in from behind and just motolov everything to ashes.

As much as i ask for help everybody decides to think that my tactics are useless, till i save them from a suicide attack.

In anycase, the VCP should be used like a dirty condom by the brits really fast in their favor, and then leave the VCP as quickly as they came and let it get raped like a dirty whore.

And thats me putting it gently.

Love setting up the .50s on the sides, and being a FSG for the attackers, with 4 landys(more if you have a bunker) defending it, LAT and sniper, its unstoppable!

I like to defend VCP, but I've never found a squad that will defend VCP unless there is a firebase there.

no real reason to defend the VCP anymore, its a big traget, just hide a bunker or a firebase on the edge of town and you good to go. Plus the object of that map is to get in the city and take out weapons caches. So it would be a waste of resources to defend that point.

Load up hide your RP and get the cache.

click, click BOOM!

I like defending VCP, but you can't do it unless there's a CO so you can put up a bunker, finding a squad willing to help out is no easy task either, but if you set up a defense, sit back and watch the insurgents come in droves.

We made it, I can't believe we made it!
Son, we just crossed the street.
