Trip flares
I really don't get what the point of them is. If I am going to be watching a flare to off to know an enemy is there I am already shooting in that location. Does anyone have any use for them? I think they would be better as 1 claymore or something. If anyone has some uses for them I would like to hear them.

Re: Trip flares
I agree.. tits on a bull
Be much better if they would shoot a flare into the air.. or make a really loud noise. But as they are, i'm yet to find them useful. When you do think you have a use for them, its always your own teammates that set them off. C'est la vie Saying that i never play sniper |

Re: Trip flares
i say make it a claymore or bouncing betty instead, but make it so it takes much longer to place and arm. maybe make it so you place the munition and then lay and set the wire.

Re: Trip flares
The trip flare should be something like the one out of Predator when they catch the pig
It should make a large sound and launch something high into the air. If something can't be launched into the air then perhaps the smoke effects from constructing commander assets should be cloned, as that is fairly visible even in the jungle. |

Re: Trip flares
I have only used them once, at the base of a ladder and the top of the building I was on, first one went off...covering everything in smoke, second one went off...but I couldn't see the guy, until he shot me.
I don't think anyone really uses them, would be a lot more useful if they were turned into a trip flash bang *hint hint* they would be useful then. Uber blurred/whited out vision for some time, justwork it out the same way as suppression fire...but with a min of 5 seconds to make it a fair playing field, not every one has a uber computer that clears out blur in 1 sec |

Re: Trip flares
Yeah it just seems like it would make more since to make it a claymore. Maybe give them 1 it can go off on friendlies. (limited kits + not wanting to team kill = no claymore spamming). It could have like a 5-10 second set time or something. It just seems a lot more useful than something that has a little red light and some smoke.....

Re: Trip flares
Are you serious? What else would you want it to do? Like T.Parker says, it's to warn of enemy movement - like entire squads, not just one sniper.
