You need to join a clan or a "community". Or start your own. It doesn't even have to be a real clan that competes, you could just make a pubber group or something. It gets a little bit involved, but, basically I see that as the only way to get in good squads for sure, because otherwise it is hit or miss.

Well i play PR quite a bit and even on pub servers ive had astounding games. Im not really a competitive clan person i just like to have some good teamplay.
So by the looks of the other posts its kinda of a bit of both. It seems that my gameplay demands have raised the bar a little and it seems that from others postage that its a definate trend also. Ah well just have to stick it out, hope it gets better and will check out other servs too. I usually play Thors 1+2, iGi, TAG almost all the time and occasionally some french servers, ok i dont speak too much french but i get a good ping and usually find lots of other english speaking players on there. Thanks for the comments guys, least im not alone lol. |

I completely agree, Try the following (I usually do this and it works)
A) Play after bed time !(very important) I play UK servers and later at night the standard of play is vastly better. B) Start up your own squad called VOIP or UKVOIP or something like this. First thing is to say hello and tell people that this is a VOIP squad and ask em to confirm they are on VOIP, if they dont, tell em you will just kick em to make room for someone who does. This exercise really works, some people just leave straight away and everyone else normally starts a hello. I find that once you have someone on VOIP they become a much better team player. C) Your now have a good squad, youve gotta keep em focused and on the ball....thats just being a leader D) Even when defending CPs you should not be left isolated from the game for very long. If you are then you are in a bad position and allowing the enemy to outnumber the attackers at the attacking CP. Its not easy to find a good game (one squad of clan members on one team with high points is usually the sign of an unfair boring game) but when you do and you get a good squad working.......Very Satisfying ! |

Budshot is right, pre-organised teamplay ensures that you'll have a positive teamplay experience, otherwise you are leaving your teammates selection to chance: Fate is a fickle friend.
Is it me or do some people make then leave squads in order to get squads made? i.e. SL gets 6 in a squad, makes a new squad, gets 6, new squad until most of the team is in squads? Tis annoying, but i find annoyance at a crap SL gives most people the courage to take command when the time comes. |

Respect the R-Staff, they are pretty...pretty badass

I just had a couple of rather sweet rounds with lot of co-operation, especially with an Air squad on Kashan. Alright, we may have lost, but we had a lot of fun still, and we even taught a new guy the ropes.

Yeh ive found this and it can be very annoying when someone opens a squad waits till its full then deserts to another squad. Ok i can see the point in getting more squads up but in reality it doesn't seem to work very well. Why? i think because as soon as the squad leader leaves the squad its left to the next person who usually didn't want to be squad leader in the first place. They then leave and rejoin making someone else leader, as a result starts a leave/join loop that gets quite vexing. Yeh ive had plenty of rounds ( especially on Thors ) where we have been completely pwned off the map and capped out...,however it usually didnt matter as most of the time i couldnt play for laughing and joking with squadmates. English speaking german players crack me up with their sense of humour. | ||

"dont look at the target, look through the sight" [R-DEV]duckhunt']well technically nothing in bf2 is really real, unless you are screwed in the head... |

What makes this game playable is decisive squadleaders. Without one teamwork is not possible.
If you join a squad and the SL leaves, you better know the new SL being desent orelse get the hell out of there. Then its better going SL yourself. If you have problems getting your SM cooperating, kick them. Even if there's only one of them |

Since we have closed one server and now focus on a wide range of maps on 1 server, rather than a few maps on each, I have noticed some great teamwork of late. It also has helped loads with having our clan members spread across several squads rather than all in one squad.
Another great help is having a commander. Loads of rounds I have noticed no one plays commander. There was a round on mestia a few days ago, as brits, the side was doing awful. We would take west, then the entire team would disappear from the flag, letting the enemy take it back. But as soon as the commander joined, he started ordering squads to correct places and the game turned itself around. It is also helpful if there are decent squad leaders on that round. Sometimes you will just get a round where hardly anyone wants to be SL, you can see it by the fact that as the round start timer is ticking down, no one makes a squad but as soon as a few brave fools start one, they fill up instantly. |
