Yes and no.
What we need to teach the newcomers, is tactics. Right now, they all run around sniping and blazing on full auto, have no tactical awarness and tons of so called 'tunnel vision', where you can go past them and they wont notice you, because they have no idea, what situational awarness is. I sometimes can't believe, how flanking can be successfull, even staying behind a box can save you, because they all run around with their vision focused in front of them, while no one ever keeps an eye on their six. It comes down to the smallest things, like stand still while being meded, take cover, dont misuse smoke - the fact, that I could take out a whole squad without being even shot once, because they all threw the smoke grenades on their own position, shows how smoke is particulary misused. |

we can go on counting what they do wrong, yes.
but i dont know also how to handle floods of them(yeah, ok, killing them), but for teaching them. if there training options like presented by masaq thats a good start but the most players will not use it. no reason to change pr for their needs, but good ideas for the newguys still needed. |

I'm happy to have 'newbies' in my squads. My only demands are that they actually follow their orders, and use VOIP (I hate typing time after time in game).
Every player should RTFM as it gives a good grounding of the fundamentals, and particularly things related to limited kits and point scoring. But as someone said previously, new players are generally more open to suggestions and advice than older 'know it alls'. The more we help each other, the more we all get out of it in the long term. |
