shadow maps on maps
uh. hey guys. whats with alot of hte maps not having shadow maps? (when you go into the shade ur characters are lit up like day. weird. huh.
all you n eedaa do is take a texture of the mini map or somthing. turn it to grey scale and set as shadow map(needa make an object shadow map too so when u go under trees shadows u get a shadow. so yeah. why no shadow maps? |

I'm no expert, but I'm going to hazard a guess that the maps without the shadow maps are the larger ones with the extended view distances. I think it was a trade off, in order to get the longer view distances, the shadows were dropped. Anyone able to confirm/disprove this theory?
Also Spartan, I'm highly sure anyone who makes those maps is aware of how to add shadow maps and that omitting them was a concious decision. |
