You need to consider something LO Brow. Do these people who have been brainwashed into believing what they believe get your full recognition as "people"?

James: have I ever told you what a pleasure it is to work with individuals such as yourself, db?
muitocomplicado: f*@k you!

How does a short video showing some insurgents and their heads blown off educate about weapon accuracy. This thread is fucking retarded, im no mod but a lock could be in place as i dont see this going anywhere.

Oh btw. if you want to see something even more funny, im sure there are vids of afgan and iraqi babies born with horrific deformalities, now what could be more fun to look at than that........

Going have to agree I find these kinds of videos distasteful, especially when a music soundtrack and text are added to them to glorify them. While I consider myself a hardcore gamer, im also in the British army and whilst not shocked by the scenes, obviously no-one should get "kicks" out of watching them. While this is a "reality" mod, I prefer to keep a distinguishable line between real life and what I play for enjoyment. I wouldn't mind reading how the many others in the various armed forces who post on this forum view this grey area....

Cameraman got shot in the back running away. Looked kinda like the truck hauled ass when it started to hit the fan, too. Two minutes of staring at people in masks with unnecessary background music, to the usual shaky camerawork and firecracking pops of weapons fire that you never see.

Combat cameraman is a oxymoron in that way. Never see anything worth watching the video for. Just one scared-ass mofo wasting film when he could have done just as good a job with a audio recorder for all he gets. Linkin Park wasn't cool for Youtube-ish videos 3 years ago, too. It's even more ridicilous in the context of the video.

I don't care what these men may have done or were planning on doing, they were still human beings, and you do -not- laugh when someone dies.

No - and I absolutely do not wish to get into a moral argument about what actions some individual or community might consider civilized in a war (or time of peace) and what not. Suffice to say, war as a whole is not civilized and that goes for all sides involved.

The two things I wanted to highlight were:

1) Glorifying war footage with comments like "Come and get it m#####f######s!" shows extremely poor taste. That is something that belongs in RAW or ECW or whatever you call them.

2) Why would someone consider it "funny" to see REAL, LIVE people gunned down? More to the point, if that's supposedly funny why aren't these guys LOLling at videos where it's their sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers being blown to bits? "Yeehaw, look at daddy fly! Man that was funny!".

Unfortunately I'm not the best person to argue this point; however, I can tell you that you do not want to go down that path. "Just doing what we're told" is the oldest excuse in the book and you know it applies to US troops just the same as it applied to German troops in the past or insurgents in the present. Soldiers on either side of a conflict are told they are defending something worthwhile and fighting the good fight. They are all given such support, training and rewards as is available to get them to go out there, do what's being asked of them and achieve their superiors' goals. As I mentioned earlier in this post, though, I have no interest in a moral argument on who's going about it the more correct way - war is simply the uncivilized outcome of a failure elsewhere.

Besides, I'm affraid this is one of those topics that would bring out the more authoritarian figures who are unable to form their own opinions but instead rely on an "unquestionable authority" which dictates their actions; the ones inclined to dichotomy, where there is only "us or them" or "right and wrong". Their inability to see the shades of grey would make any debate meaningless - and as noted, I'm not a very good debater in the first place.
