I thought they were being replaced with gimpys as well - only a tiny fraction of UH60s have miniguns

Eh, it was probubly me. I heard it from a Dev (sorry, can remember which one) a few months back. Though from what I heard it wont be happening for a very, very long time (like v1.5 or something) because it would require a new model of the BH which is low priority ATM.

I actually got killed by a minigun on 0.607, Jabal, but thats because no one fired at the Blackhawk, while it cruised 50 Kmph around West beach :/

Though MEC definitely needed Tunguska on Mashtuur then , for balance issues

A thousand times, but i get the feeling that the Minis in PR are rly quite underpowered in the sense that even some direct hits do not kill. Too many times i seen a guy running across jabal and having blood puff out from him a mingun, for him to go prone, pull out a dressing and carry on.

Also, from this vid i think it would take not many shots to completely ruin a heavy jeep with about a 4second spray.

I rarely find use for them asside from firing aimlessly to pass the time whilst going around the map.

HOWEVER for once i managed to find use for it. We were assaulting a flag on the map with the dam, completely forgotten the name. Anyway we couldnt land as the flag was over run and we had tried the 'lets land in the hills aproach'. So me being squad leader instruct the pilot to fly circles around the flag whilst everyone in the chopper lets rip with miniguns, SAWs and what ever else.

I killed 5 of them and supressed the rest so i could get my squad on the ground.

Its not that the guns are useless its more likely you have a useless pilot and no communication.
