About squadleading and teamplay

This kind of incident happened to me 10 minutes ago:

I was leading a squad and one of my sguadmember was shot to pieces. Enemy was camping with grenade launcher. This guy asked me to revive him, but i refused because the spot was under fire and I wanted to stay alive so that squadmembers could spawn on me. Other squadmember started to complain why don't I do what he asks and said to me that I am bad teamplayer. I got angry because I know I am a teamplayer. It was really an insult from him.

So I am asking... Is it better to help one guy and set yourself in danger as a squadleader or ignore and try to keep yourself alive so that your squadmembers can spawn on you and keep the pressure on? Which one is real teamplaying?

Squadleading is never easy task. You always get complains and it is always your fault if things doesn't go as they should go...

Yah, and if you would go revive him, he'd get shot again along with you, then they would complain again, because you got yourself killed :S

[R-DEV]Gaz: Shout "WE R L33TZ" at the MD, sucker punch him, then teabag him while shouting "WHO OWNS YA? WHO OWNS YA? SAY OUR NAME! IGI! IGI! IGI! OFP2 Beta plz?"

You did the right thing, no doubt about it.
If you had revived him then both of you would be killed and the squad would have to start over at a rear base.
Even if you were not the SL and the downed man was in the open under fire you would have been right to not revive him.
Being a medic is dangerous but it is not a suicide pact and it makes no sense to revive someone only to have them killed, along with you, right after.
One of my best memories of vBF:SF was holding a PKM and killing a guy crawling around a low wall.
The medic behind him revived him, and I shot him again and again and again.
I got 10 kills all on the same guy in the same place because the medic was a moron.
Given the limitations of the .6 medic pack it makes no sense to revive a man under fire.

Well I know that I will tell guys not to bother reviving me if I know the area is hot. Some people are selfish and think of themselves first over the squad. Next time they start bitching just start kicking people and explain your worth more alive then dead.

Cheers,

Close your eyes and imagine some really cool military picture, or better yet a really funny picture in this space. I said close your eyes damnit!

People always want the impossible. Some will ask for bunkers in an where 4 enemy tanks are camping the flag, and won't even bring shovels. Others will bitch about all medics sucking, because you didn't manage to teleport halfway across the map in time to save them. Some people will demand ammo from you even after you have none.

i Sl from time to time, not that i want to lol, some times it falls on me. ( i am a much better ground killer then a leader) any how IMO, a dead SL is a useless SL. i believe you did the right thing. i Know enough about medics IN RL to know that one thing worse than one injured guy and thats two (meaning the medic him self) a medic dose battlefeild triage, salvagable or not. there is no other time to debate. a dead medic can't help any one.

Don't worry about it, bro. As SL, sometimes you will need to make decisions that are best for the squad as a whole and not in the interest of one member. This is in PR as it is in real life. Not all of your squadmembers are going to agree with every decision you make. If you prove to be a good SL, this will soon be proven. A good squad member follows the orders of their squad leader or they can leave and form their own squad.
