Very true scareface...but when you are shooting through a scope etc...that amount of recoil as shown in the videos translates into a pretty big jump. So yeah in CQB that recoil doesn't effect you much...but when shooting through a scope at longer ranges the recoil obvously is more detrimental as your target is so much smaller. Maybe the G3 recoil is fine right now, I dont know as I haven't fire one. But I have fired similar caliber semi-auto rifles and the kick def moves your scope off a target a pretty decent amount even when firing from a rest. I do see this in the game though to an extent...it might be pretty spot on. Being that Strategist has actually fired these things, I'd be interested in hearing more from him...or anyone else with actual experience. TBO the recoil seems pretty sufficient right now...its not like you can full auto guys at 200-300 yrds right now...at least I can't.

Yea true. Especially with the scope on the rifleman layout. Ive played around with it a bit and while going full auto while using the scope, it does tend to buck around quite a bit.

But like Viper said, strategist is probably the best man to discuss this with. The only thing ive ever fired was an SA80 (L85A1) so ive got no grounds to compare.

But personally speaking, im more than happy with the way it is now.

I gotta say the Devs done a brilliant job. I never fired the SA80 with iron sights, only with the 4X scope on the rifle range. Wasnt even allowed to fire it on full auto

Gotta say though, that on single shot with the 4X scope its spot on.

No doubt shooting a G3 with optics even on single shot the sight picture will jump quite a bit, but how much would depend on if you were standing, kneeling or prone. I doubt they can edit recoil for each stance so I still say it's fine the way it is now.

It definitely over powers the M16A2 issued on the USMC side. Would like to see M16A3/A4 next release .

Controlling a weapon's recoil on full auto is all about stance, feet placement, lean, and not being afraid of the weapon. Not being afraid being the biggest part. Bend yours knee's, lean on the hips not your whole body, keep your feet further than shoulder width apart.

How about the Barrett M468 for a USMC equivalent to the G3?

While information regarding US military use of the Barrett M468 is murky, it has been reported by several reliable sources that some weapons are in current, if limited, use by US SOF(particularly the 5th Special Forces Group) in the GWOT[citations needed].
Remembering, PR is actually set in the near future, its reasonable to assume this may have been chosen as the main replacement to the ageing M16.

I think it is fine the way it is. There is no way I´m going to hit anything at range with the scoped G3 on auto.

How many times!?!?! The M16A4 is due for v0.7! And you've got 4x zooming iron sights for the rifleman to be going on with!

Not when both the Army and Marines are in the process of switching over their weapons to M4s and M16A4s, respectivly.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
