The fact that the chair in the first youtube video was powered by a motor was pretty useless.
The same can be done by basically building a stick onto the bottom of your joystick and mounting it on the same kind of frame. You could do it for less than $50... probably much less. |

Carld2002, there is a big difference between the two. The motorised one is taking actual flight data from the sim and using washout routines to simulate G-forces.
For example, if you stall the plane, no matter where you put the stick, the chair would point nose down. In terms of immersivity, that is a big improvement on the old stick and pivot. |
