well prob not PRMM, though I'd love to see a Red Dawn inspired game (no, not Freedom Fighters).
I think my biggest wish would be some sort of mad-max/fallout style game that has realistic infantry combat, its time to bring realism to some other genres of shooters |

I think the next big thing in First Person shooters is going to be a MMO game ala Planetside.
My latest Daydream is a truly massive multiplayer game, set in a sci-fi universe with an intergalactic war. It would encompass all elements, factions would have control on the scale of MOO types of games, colonizing planets and fortifying them. Players would be able to participate in full fledged space battles ala Alliegence, and also full fledged Ground battles on the scale of Planetside. Seemlessly flying from the surface into space and back. Every large ship would have a fully modeled interior subject to boarding, every structure built by players. Basicly give the players a universe and let them do whatever they want. The Beauty of it is that you can make a massive universe, and the playerbase will expand to fill it as neccesary. |

sounds like a good idea, id play it. the problem is that would be a monster game, and i dont think its possible right now to do something like that and make it very good.

Think World War 2 online with much better graphics, and a gameplay mode maybe where you arn't always in battle, half mmo, half fps.
you could deal with orders, build, fix, set stuff up, etc. i dunno, just ideas of a tired me. |

Earth and Beyond from EA was like that alot, FPS (walking) and space ship control while flying around 10 or 12 systems in a persistant universe with hunders of other players. But they shut down the servers a few months back
You could also check out www.mankind.net it's all that you said except not first person, more like starcraft. Mankind has over 1 million systems easy, massive galaxy and each system has about 8-9 planets in it which you can colonize and build bases/cities on, same in orbit. and your forces continue to gather minerals, fight for or gaurd your systems even while your logged off, thats because it takes about 1 month real time to make the largest cruiser in game. You can even tell the server to call your cell phone if your units are getting attacked lol Galaxy map: http://www.mankind.net/gameinfo/map/ I never even got around to trying to cross the galaxy, would have take about 3 hours with my longest hyperjumping ship, (about 1000 parsecs per jump), even longer with the ships needed to consruct a colony The players are COMPLETELY in control of the galaxy, if you wanted you could form a faction (with or without other players), build as many ships/tanks/fighters as possible and wipe out every player's system and start from scratch with your own empire. A couple players started up a System Security Faction called "G-police" to patrol the main trade systems (about 40) for new-player-killers because one group started to take out any ship that came into that sector, military or transport. http://www.mankind.net/screens_n_art...apers/wp03.jpg Man i miss playing that game |

I'm aware that there are several games where players have complete control, such as E&B, and EVE. But these games usualy don't extend much beyond an RPG with a ship as a character, I want everything fleshed out, physics, combat, you name it. I want to be able to be a space marine if I want to, and in the same game be the captain of a massive battleship, or drive a tank accross an alien planet, or construct a new settlement on a frontier world which I can actually walk around and buy a drink in a dusty frontier bar.
