Abrams model

I was just curious. How accurate are the tank models in PR to the ones in real life? I noticed that a sister mod (USI) had completely remodeled and skinned the Abrams to the 'A1 variant.

For one, I don't think you'd want to drive around in combat with the hatch open like that, inviting grenades and such.

USI is set during the Gulf War, so it would make sense to use the M1A1 Abrams tank, since the mod takes place in the past

Oh yeah, that I know. Thing is though the 'A2 variant was more of an internal upgrade and the tank model from BF2 isn't all that accurate from what I've seen.

I think they're pretty accurate. Bad looking on low ettings, yes...but they are accurate in terms of shape, symbols, etc.

The BF2 version should be the M1A1 since the M1A2 is only being fielded by the U.S. Army at this point ... the Army is still transfering M1A1's to the Marine Corps.

WHY is the hatch open??, oke when theres a commander up top but other then that it should be closed at all times,

Bearing in mind that in BF2 the crew arnt actually in (from what I've been told) the tank, it really dosent matter aside from an asthetic thing.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Many thanks to the Forum's no.1 hottie for the sig pretties.

Well you could go into total realism and have 3-5 guys in a tank with each role. However the reloader's task may be a bit on the boring side
