Molotov in PR was quite disappointment when i first used it. I dont understand why it "explodes" in midair etc. Though, i have a feeling that this might be the closest thing you can make with uber BF2 engine... :/

I think molotovs should set "things" on fire, such as tanks or such. Obviously wouldnt damage the tank but it should prevent or at least damage anyone near / existing from the tank or whatever vehicle. At the moment, my view on the current molotov on PR is that its weak and almost useless in most cases. However i do use them but havent had much luck with those.

Im no modder but perhaps theres some possibility of using the C4 "attach" effect for molotovs? Not sure if this is possible as ive got zero experience with BF2 modding but the "effect" does exist so i assume that can be used... or not (and you can throw C4).

This would make it bit more useful against tanks and apcs, or whatever, as it would still damage at least anyone existing from the vehicle etc. Possibly effective counter/delay against tankers running of to repair etc.

That's because in combat you'd have your hatch closed and be using the 3 periscopes the driver has. IRL you can choose to sit up with your head out the hatch or sit lower inside the armor. Also, IRL one of the periscopes has night vision. Note the three scopes on the hull just under the gun.

A Molitov to this area would not hurt the driver (provided the hatch was closed) but would blind him temporarily. Of course, the tank commander and gunner would still have their vision, so they could just tell the driver where to go (often practiced). There's a lot of redundancy in tank optics just because the risk of them being disabled is so high.
