Project Reality is like gambling
I only came up with this idea today.
But I think I know why I'm so addicted to PR. I'm gambling for a great game. You see, most games I'm in are not really all that great. Even if my team wins, if there's no organization, or the squad leaders aren't placing rally points, or even if I'm just not playing very good I'm just not gonna be having so much fun and I'll quit after a half hour. But every once in a while (about once or twice a week) I'll be in a VERY good game. Both teams will be organized, I'm playing well, there's no lag, etc, etc. So you see, I keep playing for the chance that I'll be in a good game, and when it does arrive its oh, so satisfying. Positive reinforcement at work. |

Heh, its great that the game is that good when its good. Bar none I've never played a game that really puts it together as well as PR when its "Good"

Quality of play is definitely coming up imo. After the v0.5 release I found it impossible to get a decent game going... really put me off tbh. We spend a lot of time working on the mod and to jump into a server with 10s respawn and bunny hoppers galore is really a turn off.
That's expected with every release, but it went on waaaay to long with v0.5. Only in the last couple of weeks have I been able to jump in and find a decent game & squad. |

I have to totaly aggree, even to the extent that i am actualy scared becuase of imense levels of intelligence, organization and skills many squads possess - on all teams!
Intence firefights, and mass assults have always happened in PR, but ofcourse they have been to varying degrees, however in the last 2 weeks i have noticed an all time high in the these areas, resulting it what only can be described as some truely spectacular situations and games. Last example: north west bridge on 32player Al Basara, all flags on main land under US control, Insurgents prep to take up defensive possitions on office side, ony to see 10+ US make a mass assult accross the bridge (^), but it was the shere speed, audacity and focus that supprised every one the most, backed up by a humvee, i gunned 2 down, but hell more came like 5 secs later = shcking and after wards scary to think that the other side were using similar levels of tactics or above as our squad , and we had implyed brilliant communciation and tactical movements. SO, yes PR is like gambling when things starting hotting up, like the above, it is very very difficult to put down, no questions, Egg you and your possy can proudly have PR added to the list of C class drugs, highly addictive substances or whatever they like to call them and this! yea i can definitely say the gameplay is picking up ALOT!!!
all the shortspawn servers have migrated out, and the new players who didnt really want to play PR in a tactical manner have all seemed to mostly take a hike (or go to devfile server lol) so now whats left is a solid community of like-minded gamers! great to see our numbers have thinned out a bit and now the games are starting to get reaall good but trust me guys, v0.6 is gonna blow away v0.5, in prety much every aspect. vehicle and infantry combat will be ALOT more realistic.. spawning (RPs,etc) will be changed alot to reinforce a slower paced environment. cant wait for the open beta to see it all in action! |

Good to hear fuzz, becuase with all the other releases you have chocked us with gamepaly changes and THAT IS ALL I REALLY WANT.......to a dgree but a massive one at that, however i have not and i am not struggeling to breath due to a list of gameplay changes ext. so i was lowering my expections a small notch, but your few words have raised them alittle, HURRAY............ps. any chance of a change log list thingy anytime soon ?

Hopefully .6 brings new stuff (USMC optics PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ!) as I really only enjoy a few of the .5 maps. Organized play is the same as ever, lacking. Come on 0.6!
