Words of advice:
Make friends fast.. learn the game on off-peak times if you can.. and oh yea.. forget everything you learned in vBF. Saw a guy bunny hopping on our server yesterday.. He was dead before he hit the ground from his second jump. |

I loved the hard learning curve in PR, only thing I disliked was the bitching about everybody else being statswhores. And if you are not, you will be accused as such before you know it.

PR is great for people like me, for whom vBF2 provokes vomiting. Last time I played anything BF2 before playing .5 was probably over a year ago. I remember playing PRMM, and trying to get the SUV through that vBF2 map with the town with two bridges, a mosque, and a base up in the hills (I can't even remember the name, though I believe the main menu background is from there).
Also, I don't feel that PR has a steep learning curve. Perhaps I tend to learn stuff fast, but the gameplay mechanics aren't that much more complicated that vBF2. Actual gameplay itself is even more intuitive, or at least it feels intuitive to someone who played more than one realistic game that emphasizes tactics. I still find it hard to find decent squads in pub servers. Most of the time it's what I like to call the HEADLESS CHICKEN ZOMG mode. |
