Straight answer on skin replacement

I know there have been a few threads on this but none really give a definitive answer. So before I go and replace all of the MEC skins with more realistic camo, I want to know if PB will actually have a problem with it. In other threads some people have said that they have had no probs what so ever, whislt others have said that replacing skins has landed them on the PB master ban list. Can anybody give me a straight answer?

Backup the origional files and find out for yourself. There are mixed reports so I think it varies server to server.

Even if it doesn't, a lot of admins regularly take PB screenshots and will ban if they see the changes you make as giving you an unfair advantage.

skin

I remember glowing skins from mohaa...They would stand out and even glow through walls. Changing skins cannot be allowed imo. It makes it so very, very easy to cheat.

PB has no problem with them, I tested it myself.

i think the next version of PR should kick for such changes. i can only imagine someone editing soldier skins to make them stand out more. maybe make soldiers heads bright yellow for easier headshots

Yes.... 0.5 *should* kick for that sort of change, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I don't know if you should let people know that, E-Gor.

No custom skins is what I say.

Does that mean you guys are turning verifying client data back on? If so - I won't be playing much PR anymore.

Well I assumed md5 checks would catch this, if it doesn't then I hope that is tested for 0.6 and found to work.
