Does anyone else feel the point system needs to be re-worked for the medic class?
Reviving in PR is no easy task-- its not like vanilla or 2142 where you can be 10ft away and use the shock paddles. You have to be right on top of a specific part of their body, and sometimes that doesnt even work(i.e. the field dressing dislodge bug). Medic is def. underplayed so maybe making a revive worth 10 points would offer a greater incentive for people playing that class? It would also be cool if you could double the points received for reviving a squad leader... |

Welcome to the forums tdadamo.
I see your point. I have noticed a distinct lack of medics among the general public team these days. With the 0.6 version of PR however, the developers are implimented a variety of game-play changes partly to discourage some of the "lone-wolf", "run 'n gun", essentially non-teamwork oriented players that use this mod. Generally team players play for the fun of the tight squadwork that you find in PR, and not for just points. I think that in a roundabout way, what you're asking for (more medics) will be accomplished. There will be more cohesive squads, and more SLs will be defining roles for their squad members. So medics will be assigned. If you haven't tried yet, hop along squads a couple times when you join a server to find a SL who is communicating heavily with his members, and see what the gameplay in such a squad is like. I think that you'll find there are usually enough medics at hand to revive you. |

I play medic and I normally place near the top.....
/shrug But I think if you really want to get more medics the easiest way would be to give us a frag grenade. Even 1 would be very helpful. I can't count how many times I've known there's a guy hiding in a building or behind a dirt mound but couldn't do anything about it. |

Yes-- i realize its not about the points.
I know all about teamwork/communication and the fact that this community is full of like minded individuals makes the mod so great. However, if we're awarding points at all we might as well give each task an appropriate value. As it stands now I dont feel medics are being rewarded point wise. I'm an SL 95% of the time so if you ever wanna see true teamwork in action find me on Tactical Gamer as the name LLJK tdadamo. **edited to add** I dont think medics should have grenades... that sort of goes against the intended role of a medic(sit back a bit and keep everyone alive/healthy). I know its frustrating to not have that nade but its equally frustrating for a non medic class to not have the health bag |

yeah. When playing in a good squad there is always at least 1 medic around, usually 2 medics. And at least in my case I'll always heal & revive my squad members first. So when you manage to find a good squad then there shouldn't be problems with not having a medic to take care of you.
And I think that medics do get enough points. And knowing you helped your teammate is more rewarding that having your score go up. (at least in my opinion) |

I still love playing medic. (It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside helping people around the world continue playing).
Unfortunately any medig on BF2v is labelled as a whore. I actually think in PR the points are fine as I don't care about medic points all I care about is playing the game, the only gripe I have aboot the medic is the medic dislodge bug, but there are ways of countering it. Are the DEVs working on that bug? Just wondered. |

I agree, players shouldn't be reviving people for the points, it should be about teamwork. And if you think about it, without a ranking/unlocks system, points are pretty much useless anyway...
However, as long as we have points, I agree with you on the X2 points for a SL revive. |
