Exactly how does the point system work?

Well.....i've come to the conclusion, after a couple of months of playing this mod, that the points system is different from vBF2.

But how does it work? All i've sussed out so far is that:

Kill = 4 Points
Flag Cap = 16 Points
Flag Cap Assist = 8 Points


But wait!

Sometimes i get points for doing nothing. WTF?!

So how does it work? Does it even work?

lol. In the beginning I thought it might give you points for staying alive. But then I don't know since sometimes I seem to get points (well think so because I've gotten a new rank on multiple occasions) when just lying there critically wounded on the ground waiting for a medic.

So yeah, the does it even work is a good question.
To me this really doesn't matter too much, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to find out.

it matters on what you kill. more points for vehicles, planes etc, if the person you killed is a SL or Commander, if they have a high kill/death ratio etc. and also the range of the kill if you are a sniper

You get points when your squadmates get kills. That's why you up ranks for no apparent reason.

This is why people who stick close to their squadleader and squadmates tend to get higher scores.

damn, i cant find it - anyways, the changelog for the pointsystem is in one of the old 0.3 release threads, but it may have been delted because i cant find it

If it really matters that much to you, go and look at the threatandworth.py and see what you can figure out :P

The points you get for kills are calculated based on the percieved threat of your opponent - The enemy commander as a sniper in an M1A2 would get you more points than a random grunt with a 1:10 kill:death ratio. Then you get minus points for losing key assets (tanks, apcs, etc.) And a few more things on top of that.

And you get stupid scores of 150+ points for 1 kill etc when you do the least for the team by playing the least teamwork orientated class in it.

(i.e. sniper with the ridiculous score multiplier)
