Battlefield 2 Demo Load Times

Im just wondewring what your normal load time is. Im going to time mine a few tmes later. Sometimes mine takes over 3 minutes (it usually has an error after it gets to the verifying) and just today I had a 15 second load time

The demo seems to be real glitchy. Its really hard for me to connect to a server without having problems. I either crash at the server browser, freeze while loading, or get an error while it is verifying.

Is it like this for everyone?

i freeze alot too, i cant always use IPs to connect, it says check my network connections, which are fine. my times also vary although not as much as yours seem to do. mine probably take between 45 seconds to a minute and a half if its really going slow, not including the verifying client data.

As far as the verifying client data goes i am not happy about the account thing, people are still gunna cheat and all it does is limit you to one name

hopefully as someone said you'll be able to change the name

sorry that was way off topic, at least i got a little bit in up top

You can significantly reduce the demo load time by exploring

Battlefield 2 Demo\mods\bf2\movies and renaming or deleting everything *except* menu.bik and menu_loggedin.bik.

Well I gave up on the demo. Some thing happened and it freezes up every time I finish loading and click the join game button. I re-installed. I rolled my drivers back.... then installed the new ones again. I even did a system restore... wich completely broke it. So I'm just gunna hope that BF2 will work.

Oops.. Oh well do the above and the game still loads faster, takes approx 10 seconds... Can't say I've had a problem logging onto servers, one or two rare crashes to desktop.
Try the IGN Windows XP and BF2 optimisation guide, see if that helps.

I have enough time to go downstairs get some food and liquid, come back, eat and drink. And probally still sit around for a about 30 seconds.
