Only medics need apply.

Simple question, as a medic do you feel remorse/helpless/annoyed/etc...
When you are unable to reach/help a fellow soldier who is in an injured or 'critical state'? Please read through all the choices and select the one which best matches your feeling(s) when you are faced with the situation described above.

*This poll is not intended to analyze your psyche (with regard to battlefield conditions) but will be used to evaluate 'options' for PR mod.

Bill Cosby has a great bit about being a medic in a time of war. It explains my stance on being a medic in BF2 to the T.

I feel a little cowardly, because I know I could make a good attempt. However, unless its my squad leader, I almost always let them die if I know I'm outnumbered. They can always respawn right where I am.

So I guess I feel somewhat helpless, because its too great a risk when they can respawn right on me.

If you couldn't spawn on squad leaders, I'd probably be more ballsey.

The thing that drives me crazy is when I make it to a critically wounded teammate, and then, for some reason, the shock pads just don't work. Gah! That's so annoying. Also, bodies disappear way too quickly with regards to respawn time. I've watched someone die and the corpse despawns MUCH faster than the person respawns.

Generally what I fell if I'm a couple seconds late, or I can't go out without it being suicidal:

Damn it! Damn it! I wish I could save him! Dammit!

Somwhere between angry and remorseful, more remorseful. I have feelings for shaded polygons...oh well.

Shaded polygons who have a real person inside them, who now has to wait to respawn, because you failed them!

i always try to get out to them, barring there being a tank sitting on top of them and even then i have to tell myself to stay put, i figure if im gunna be a medic, i have to be as usefull as i can and unless im desperately needed to hold down the fort i try to get out to them. for some reason i always end up with the red cross, so i cant revive them. that makes me angry as hell cause i usually have bullets flying around me. suprisingly ive usually been able to save myself if the fallen teamate is dead.... but i still get very angry i dont know if thats healthy to feel like that over a game.

Fortnight-- to tell you thr truth i thought the same thing after i posted.

IRT Broken Arrow:

Hmmm. Not really sure if I should laugh or what about the last part of your post. Kind of makes me think of the real equivelant. I guess maybe I'm taking the whole 'reality' part a little too seriously and not putting enough emphasis on the 'game' part (since obviously no one is really getting killed when they get 'fragged' ingame. But IDK .

im not usually a medic, but i try to look at the chances they have of surviving, if troops are coming but at a distance, ill do it no problem, sometimes even when bullets are flying i still do it... when i use the paddles 3 times and they still dont work, i feel annoyed and angry and remorsful, i need that guy fighting right at that moment! but the thing is... it usually doesnt matter too much, like there is so much shooting they get up, just to die again.

thats why i cant wait for PR, because when teams are working together, the team can provide cover fire while moving a wounded soldier somewhere.

I have litterally driven a tank OVER mines (very close), destroyed an enemy tank, an enemy apc, 5 enemy troops and critically damaged an enemy helicopter in order to bail out, run over to a dying comrade, take his medical gear and zap him back to life.

that feels good.

what sucks is when you back over him with the tank.
