BF2 Glitch....Bug? PR Fix?

While playing on a server i was asked to defend the arty, i was a medic and told another squad member to spawn eng. so he could repair it. i then hear "supplies are being dropped at your position" and i think "oh cool i wont have ot worry about ammo getting low" i then turn around to see that the arty is fixed.

since the supplies give health, ammo, and somehow? repairs vehicles too. so when he dropped it at hte destroyed arty it fixed it.

I really like the idea of bring able to drop supplies, i dont like the idea of it fixing vehicles or giving health. it should give medics more health "packets" or morphine, or whatever PR decides to use.


So what will PR's supply drops consists of.

A magic crate that repairs vehicles is not in use currently by any military force and I'm still working on the design myself. Except my magic crate makes precious metals appear and does my taxes. Certainly not realistic.

Yeah, you couldn't fit an accountant and Mr T in the same crate, and if you could, I doubt T would give up his gold.

God I noticed that also. My clanmates and I decide we'd be MEC spec ops (2 spec ops, 1 medic, 1 support) and go blow up all the nice blow up able US stuff. We nail the artillery (not after having to dodge it litterally artying its self, which we barely survived, and didn't hurt the guns at all), but within seconds, that damn box comes down, and in another 5 seconds POOF guns are back up...

So we had to kill the box, and kill it everytime he put it there....

stupid!

the arty guns did no damage ot themselves?! that reminds me when i had my rocket and put all 4 of them into the arty and it did NOTHING. so it can bring down a tank, but do nothing to a howitzer?

Yeah only C4 can damage the arty guns, nothing else can. It's meant as a destroy task for the spec forces class alone.

that a real waste then of missles and tank rounds i put into it.. the arty should be way behind enemy lines.. tobad the map really isnt that big

i agree, arty should be to the side of the main base, like it is for the MEC. Since the US have a carrier as their main, then i think the arty should be another boat, like a destroyer or something (i dont know too much about seacraft) but a boat with artillery guns (the idea just popped into my head, what if we gave US tomahawk missles, that are guided by a player, or the commander selects a very specific target such as a tank and the missle is guided towards its area) anyways, you can blow up the arty guns, and the boat is static.

Haggerd, I think the scenario is: The USMC has established a beachhead and brought artillery ashore. As well as attacking, they must defend their beach bases and the artillery. I don't see a problem with only C4 blowing up artillery. As the map(s) is relatively small, any bod with big enough ordnance would be blowing the artillery. Only allowing the SF class do it makes up for the smallish map, the short travel times and makes the battle more interesting.
I do agree, the supply boxes repairing the artillery seems wrong though, it should be left up to engineers to fix vehicles or emplacements.

Well first off, being that close to shore, I think the US would be using artillery from a boat, they wouldnt bring in howitzers in until they had a much larger area secured. Since howitzers have a range of about 3-4 miles, they wouldnt bring them in until they had at least that much area secured. As far as BF2 goes, it makes little sense to have a capturable base right next to american artillery. also, IRL a tank should be able to blow the crap out of a howitzer.


Also, this map is only 32 players big, we dont know what the 64 player version holds.
