Agree some of my fav maps are 2km. TBH bigger isn't better, it all comes down to map design and asset placement. I would like to see the developers re-think asset placement for the upcoming patch, because modern warfare's core is inf.

01 Player = Commander
02 Players = Sniper 04 Players = CAS 04 players = 2 Tanks 04 Players = 2 APCs 02 Players = 1 AAV 03 Players = 1 Mortar Team 02 Players = 2 Transport/Logi 10 Players = Infantry 32 = Team Size This leaves about two 5-man infantry squads. Subtract a squad for FB defenses. My take on this. Does this topic deserve a thread of its own? |

Which kinda makes your post kinda...ironic?
An abundance of assets on maps technically qualifies as a "Asset issue" |

Going to be honest, on a map like Kashan, no more then a full squad should be running any sort of IFV. There simply is no need to bring any more fire to bear within the minute timespan. One tank is enough to kill an IFV, one IFV is enough to kill a tank. With a platoon of tanks, the problem is keeping your armor from doing stupid stuff that you would otherwise be able to handle via micromanagement of drivers.
6 people in Armor, 1 Cmmdr, 4 in CAS, 1-2 in Trans, 1-2 in Logistics/Vehicle Retrieval, leaves 3 full squads of infantry. Armor is far more versatile then a sniper or something would ever be, and can supplant snipers, with a combination of a rifleman dismount and some good ol' tactics. |

I have to agree, it would be nice if players kept in mind that you really dont need 6 people in a mortar squad, especially if your going to have 2 mortar squads. That really consumes players that could be in INF squads.

Maps are generally too asset heavy at the moment. On a map like Kashan, a team basically has more assets than it can realistically use in such a small area. Kashan Desert feels more like I imagine the Battle of 73 Easting to me with hueg numbers of tanks popping each other and a distinct absence of line infantry.
So yes, there are a few problems with asset:infantry numbers at the moment. |
