When the fit hits the shan, all the manuals in the world wont help you.

stay with the squad, and shoot in the same direction. it is also entirely plausable that you wont see a single enemy. dont use your sprint unless your crossing a road or something.

and beware of sidewalks.

Hey Sclafani, welcome to PR and the Forums! If you're on a server, and you see me there, feel free to join my squad or a squad I'm in, if there's room, and if the battle isn't too demanding, I can help you out! We've all been there, I started 2 years ago(this week). Some will patronize you, others will help, others just have problems. Be careful, lol. Pretty soon, you get the hang of who's a dirtbag and who's not.

cheers,

Bazza

Hi !

I've also just started with PR and trying to gain some experience.
So far the gaming experience has been great and im really looking
forward to get familiar with this mod.

I didnt want to make a new thread so im putting this here:

I could use some help. I've found it really difficult to identify enemy
troops or vehicles, even within a very short range. The uniforms seems to look all the same on both sides etc. While playing im always desperately checking the map
every 5-10sec to be sure that im not going to TK anyone of my team/squad in
case some action happens.

And when i face an enemy soldier I aim and start wondering whether he really
is an enemy or not (I just cant identify him by checking the uniform and it
takes time when the name appears in case he's one of our guys). Normally I
realize that the guy is on the enemy side after he starts shooting and
killing me and that is too late...

I've tried to search pics from the web for uniforms/vehicles
used in PR so i could compare and learn but I havent found any.

Identifying an enemy in PR takes more time of course compared to some arcade
shooting games but in my case it just takes too long. It's also very irritating.

Sure this is going to be much easier after getting familiar with
the game and you start doing certain things subconsciously.

But, any tips guys? Shall I continue checking the map every 5sec ?

the easist way to tell is guns tbh, most of the time (not always) it will be enemy if they have the enmies gun (not so in insugency though). Checking the map should only be done for ranges over 300 meters, and if you stick with your squad you shouldn't ened to indetify it your whole squad will and it'll be easier. STICK WITH THE SQUAD

This is pretty handy thread for newbies, i'll be sure to check back through all this when i've got PR. I've already read through the manual but jumping into co-ops first seems far more feasible than jumping into public servers...

Much appreciated guys!

@Jezyy If i where you i would spend a bit of time going threw every co-op map and just looking at the color of their uniforms until you are able to distinguish between them. Also a tip is that when you pick up enemy kits i think only your helmet changes so if you see a guy with a towel on his head with an AK but he has a combat uniform on your best bet is not to shoot. The flip goes for if you see some guy in like normal clothing with a combat helmet on with an m16 it is prob an enemy. Every ones uniforms are fairly easy to distinguish after a little bit except for maybe the PLA vs USMC on Barracuda. All the insurgent factions where no uniform so the Taliban militia and the Iraqi insurgents and hamas. The MEC always wheres this darkish brown uniform. US has tan with dessert camo on middle eastern maps and this green and tan camo on Forrest/ jungle maps. PLA has this sort of all green with a little Grey camo. Not sure about the brits in the forrest maps but they are playing the Militia so its easy to tell them apart. And the Russians have this sort of Grey blue camo.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I've spent a bit time on coop training checking all the uniforms etc.
Like you said it's not that hard to distinguish the enemy after a bit time
Damn, i gotta admit i like this game more and more every single time I play
