There was a mod team event or something ages where EA invited mod teams along. Also they have done spotlights on their site.
Lex posted some other stuff on BFed so I guess that counts for something also

thanks to EA we are allowed to use content from special forces and the X-packs which other mods are not allowed to use, i believe Eggman secured that for PR.

Ye, the SF stuff and the advertisement are what came to my mind. They didn't do much, but they didn't do bugger all either.
