Tonight I installed a free RamBooster, a little program that cleans up and optimizes memory.
So, PR was running with its regular 1.3+ GB of memory usage. I start up the tool, let it optimize my memory every 5 minutes or so and when I checked the BF2 process in my task manager...............: ![]() Maaaaaaan! I've been playing for like 45 minutes now and memory is between 100MB and 250MB.... Try it out, see what it does for you? |

Will this raise my FPS or just stop BF2 from crashing?

Well, I had a memory error every now and then. BF2 using more memory than it can handle or so, I don't know. I haven't had problems yet, I'm still "testing" it

I think the game crashes when I hit the 2GB mark. Since that's all I have for memory! PR starts off using only 1.3GBs, but grows from there! I couldn't tell you what makes the memory use grow after a couple map loads, but it seems to have some correlation in my mind.

I would like to know if it improves anything like rubber banding or FPS, as it is most likely just removing the stuff that has recently been used, and if that is textures then you may have to load them again when you get back to that part of the map and have some unnecessary loading if you have plenty of RAM for it to store for later.

Software works brilliant, I got a couple extra frames on Silent Eagle but I'll need to test it to see if it's fully stable.

Hmm, there really isn't such thing as ram "optimizing" or whatever. It probably looks for any ram programs have taken for themselves but aren't using and making it "avaivable". Sounds good, but unless your system is running low in memory this isn't necessary and can actually do you more harm than good. Think its useful for games and programs that use lot or ram and doesn't properly free it up, like BF2. I'd recommend use it at end of rounds or before loading so the ram is freed before loading next map, but not while playing, BF2 needs to get the stuff it puts in RAM from somewhere and if it isn't in ram it takes it from HDD and thats slower and will affect your performance.
