Only would call it base rape if the server had a rule against it. Otherwise it is just main attack. I frequent TTP where it is allowed but it really does not happen often. When it does, it usually hurts the attacking team more than the defender(unless its organized full fledge 4 tanks or something), because their assets are being put toward the main attack. (this is most noticeable on Kashan or Qin).
Seeing that most mains now have base defenses, they are put there for a real life reason in defense. The team should use them if they are attacked. Otherwise I guess they are a waste of objects on a map. Would let the last determination be to the server admins. But with the map sizes, I can't completely agree with the non-permitting of main base attack. Mines in front of a base I would not call base rape, a combat engy could easily go remove them(teamwork!) or a different path could be taken by vehicles since it is doubtful all entrances are blocked by only one mine(most of the time, thinking about ammo supply, different in INS maps which was already discussed). I guess a shooting hazard would be a greater threat, but I doubt we will get auto turrets to pop out of mines. |
