1) Enemy dies, but is back on spotting duty 30 sec later.
2) Your precision kill actually means something and you have crippled the enemy.

Besides, I think it's time the regular SL starts getting involved with CAS. I just hate that if you don't have a dedicated spotter, you won't get a single laze.
Hopefully this change will encourage that, as the grunts might notice the lack of CAS.
Agreed. I would hate to get a great shot on someone that was spotting our apcs for the cobra's so they stopped dying but then 60 seconds later I see him spotting again.

1. Pretty good sniper, he obviously paid attention to you making the drop off and waited for a target.

2. Why did you tell him to set a rally? Rally Points are only useful for new players joining the squad and/or for retreating and regrouping.

3. If he wanted a spawn point, he should have called for supplies in A7 and set up a Forward Outpost.

The basic gist of killing something is not that you make the other team lose tickets, it is that you deny them that capability. The idea that you should always have spotters nearly all the time even if they get themselves killed is a flawed one.

New rallies are a very good thing.

I just had a great Kashan spotting round with the MiG going 36-0. I died 3 times in the middle of the desert but still found a way to get back in position(that desert is massive btw). CAS is not dead.

If the spotter goes down, CAS should hold on attack runs until eyes are back on field. There are just too many ways to waste the 12 tix and wait 20 or so more min. Zrix brings a good point too.

Plus give it more than 1 day, or 1 game. 0.9 just came out.

Other squads are going to have a much more efficient time calling CAS now with the new GLTD rose. Give it time; squad leaders will become more aware of their new toys.

And your squad did not build a fob in order to spawn close enough to get to the mountains why ?
Also the pilot can park the Cobra take the little bird and insert you in the hills, or the pilot already piloting the LB can do that.

OHHHhhhh I see...hate to break it to you but thats how its suppose to be played. In fact this now make snipers MORE useful as they now can cripple a team, which sounds like he did exactly that.
I don't know if this is a bug or what but should probably be mentioned here first since it's in the same sniper/rally/GLTD ballpark.

Anywho you now can't send a laser target message as a sniper unless you're the squad leader although you can use your GLTD to set targets still. Kinda a pain and potentially dangerous in having laser markers without identification. Plus it means that the sniper team is at a disadvantage with a lack of a rally and only encourages them to go solo/lack of an additonal squad role which is a shame. So intentional or not I guess as I can't remember this being change in a prior patch?

First of all, it was idiotic of you to drop him in A7 in the first place. Good snipers look around. Great snipers look to the mountains first.

Would not this kinda be the goal for a sniper taking down high value targets, and therefore blocking the enemy from getting intel and eyes to different assets. If you take down a spotter shouldnt the change be noticeable for a longer time then 30sec?

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
