This feels like battlefield 2 to me aswell. Only you have to run miles if there is no Forward outpost around. What this game needs is 32 players all thinking alike if this is going to work, but we all no that isnt going to happen. I spent most of my time asking for a pick up that never came tonight.

It's true the new rally point system results in more walking - I have now walked across the whole of Beruit map from factory area in east to the docks in the west to regroup with squad - however the infantry are not known as footsoldiers without good reason. It can be frustrating when you are hit and cannot re-spawn in with your squad however it is more realistic. My take on it is that the new system now reflects better how casulties would be replaced in real life. It probably means that squad membership needs to become more flexible. New squads may need to form up based on guys available back in base to act as a relief squad. Reinforcements shouldn't just appear out of thin air but should be feed into the battle lines from behind the front (or by helo drop).
People can agree or not on the new system however it would appear that people are becoming more cautious in gameplay because of it. This certainly does reflect reality!!

Allow me to summarize this entire thread:

"I don't like the new system, because I don't want to rely on teamwork and a medic. I would rather spawn in the middle of the fight and rush into it with no plan whatsoever, wasting tickets and losing the round for my team. I can't be expected to spawn more than 100m from the middle of a firefight, and I especially can't be expected to wait around for a medic after I am wounded for more than 15 seconds."

Adjust to the new style. It is a major improvement to the game.

THis is the same nagging as when APC spawning where taken out when SL spawning where taken out nearly the same, the same opinions like the squads are not together anymore or I cant wtfpwn people when I spawn at once, if you dont like it I am sorry but it will stay as it is and I like it, no more Zerg rush on the flags like there was a infinite birthing place for soldiers from a pair of rucksacks.

If you dont have any spawn points close its mostly your team faults and when your team cant make FOBS that are placed good for the game you should be punished for it.

This system also awards people actually killing other people as the dude you did just shoot or bombed will not come back for atleast some minutes.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

I like the new rally system as I value my life and try to rely on my squad, hopefully letting them die before I do Using tactics and killing enemies is much more rewarding now as you wont see them magically returning after a short moment.

dhL1986 - That would be good if the medics around you actually healed you. What I found is that they just run past you if you are not on there team. Like I said, it would be good if 32 players were all thinking alike. Then things like transport would be there waiting to transport you, medics there willing to heal you regardless of team you are on.. etc. I saw none of this in the games I played tonight, but I'll give it time to see if this changes.

I never hear Navy Seals respawning in force, or going behind enemy lines in force on Discovery. So it only became more real. You cant rally behind enemy lines. Your a crack squad, that needs to kill at the right moment because if you dont, your dead. You just cant engage anything you want. Now its more focused on Hiding and finding the correct fights. It is ever still present, just requires more work!

And its all about the firebases now. If you dont see any up, what stops you for building one or forcing your SL to build one

If making it more like reality was the aim then why not abolish rally points altogether? Even though they are now crippled people can still spawn out of thin air behind the lines because SL's still get one rally which is recharged by standing near a crate. Soldiers still spawn out of thin air from firebases too (which can also be built behind enemy lines). It's splitting hairs saying this patch is more like reality than before, because at the end of the day this is a game, and a very long way from reality. Just a different style of gameplay.

Imo the change is a return toward vanilla BF2 style of fighting with the entire teams locking horns head on, and squads being a fairly loose concept. Not necessarily a bad thing depending on individual preference, but I preferred the craft of tightly coordinated squads.

Put consideration into placing fire bases, which only take 1 crate to build and are more numerous now. Instead of relying on the old unlimited rally point system.

Basically you have to change how you play.

Obviously if you don't adapt you're going to have a harder time, but that's kind of the nature of PR. If you don't play it properly you get owned big time.
