I should be up for some helping people :P, I always welcome newbies to my squad, but ill make the extra effort in making my squad stand out to be newbie friendly by using your idea and making a separate squad =]
I think the best thing to do is to try and get as many Trainee squad on as many different servers as possible, so no matter what server they join, they'll have a home :P. (until the squads fill) |

or maybe they could just play training servers, im always a squad leader and theres nothing i hate more than an inefficient squad who doesnt know how to play, i like getting stuff done not explaining what the epipen does. If they are new to this read the manual or play training dont hop into a normal server thinking you'll get first place because you play vbf2 5 hours a day. Im not welcoming any newcomers i will kick them from the squad, training mode exists for a reason and im sure there will be plenty of servers populated for training

2. Training mode wasn't really that effective anyway, newbies learned a lot more from reading the manual and playing normal matches lead by helpful squad leaders.

Edit: I must also add I will be mostly training the people who want to be trained, and not people who will go lone wolfing in my squad after I've told them its a bad idea :P. Training requires co-operation from them as well as patience from us =]

2, They should of course read the manual. 3, The TRAINEE is not meant to wetnurse them, simply to show them teamwork and how to act in a squad which cannot be learned offline or with bots. Having said that, I will still tell people online what different things do but I will never encourage a newcomer to play as medic for example. I will likely have a second clanplayer act as medic. After a round or two, maybe they can try. Newcomers play with the basic kits in my squad unless I tell them to take something different - which I may and then give specific instruction on useage. I will not waste the entire squads time on lectures so it'll be 1 kit at a time, never a HAT however. That belongs to the team and should be used by experienced players. Good that it will remain 5 mins now, recovery is easier (by both teams). In the end, do what you want. I choose to encourage people to play, give them that tantalizing teamwork feeling that will keep drawing them back. As previous people said, the mod isn't easy to get into and a friendly voice helps. All the gizmos, the fun extras in the kit is just that, extras that we all love but it's the teamwork that draws people.

People without imagination, consideration and plain lacking any *ation makes me question Gods Great plan.

For me I would be fine if they came outta 'nilla without reading a single word of the manual as long as they know how to listen

I strongly approve this thread!
Have patience with the newcomers and treat them just like your own ol' lady |
