Alright this is an idea for a type of Spec ops sky diving mission. Using a black hawk. This Technique would make an insertion more stealth like than landing on a roof and all insurgents seeing you.
I will use Ramiel as an example. Take a black hawk. One full squad, All of them using pilot kits for the parachute. Load up the squad . Climb to 600 Altitude so you cant be seen. Squad leader picks a building on the map and puts his move marker on it. As the target building his squad will land on. He also Relays the cordinates of the building to the pilot. ( this is important so he knows where to drop the crate after they all bail out. Pilot is over the drop zone. He spams Bail out ( about 6 times ) All of them free fall till about 200 Altitude. They all land on there Target building. The pilot of the black hawk then goes into a steep dive and levels out at top speed just above the roof tops. Then he flies over the Target building at full speed drops the crate and the squad Re arms and switches kits and can go about there mission. Another way to go about this would be to drop the crate from 600 Altitude and hope the squad can find it. But i think crates explode if you drop them from to high. |

This is fun doing sometimes but its really allmost useless unless there's allready is a supply crate in the ground waiting for the inf so the heli doesnt need to land

Heli doesnt land at all.
It flies over top speed and drops the crate. |

Still has to come down low in the range of AA, you could allmost just aswell land than drop an inaccurate crate

Ever since that "Para" insertation on Quinling with the brits, paradrops seem to be all the rage. Personally, I'd think It's only applicable to small commando units, and even then it's totally useless in urban areas. rural paradrops of commando-engineers building FB's are really the only way to go, and even then it's a bit of a overdramaic waste.

Yeah I was thinking about this too... and as CrAck_Shot said, put the crates before the airdrop (ex. 10 mins or at the begining of the round). However, remember you need almost 300m not to get injured by an airdrop (you need 300m for the parachute to deploy completely with no injuries I think).
Now, while you slowly glide down to your target building in your big, round parachutes, you are more than a perfect target for PKMs, Techies, Rushers (which will get to the building to kill you) and, of course, the Al-Quds, the biggest threat to any BLUFOR soldier. After, of course, the civilians. IMO it's safer to land the chopper and everyone hope out right away. A blackhawk can survive 1 RPG and a some .50cal fire I think. All you mustn't do is take too long to hop out. |

Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! Landing on a building won't work since you can't request rifleman specialist from a crate. But you could just get the squad leader and a medic to do the jump, then set a rally and have the other 4 people spawn in, one with a rope.
